This article investigates the terms intertextuality and contextuality as used in literary science. The discussion follows Sailhamer "s proposal that these terms can be used to understand the theological meaning of the final shape of the Old Testament. The investigation of the terms is then applied to a reading of Daniel 9:1-27.
