In contemporary Ecclesiology, much attention is paid to liturgy in order to avoid formalism and rationalism in worship. This article focuses on the possibility of renewal in worship in the Reformed Churches in South Africa (GKSA) to accommodate expectations of worship in a post-modern society with its emphasis on the meaningful experience of the communion with God. The main elements of liturgy as practised in the Reformed Churches in South Africa are discussed in order to propose renewal where necessary within the framework of Biblical principles regarding this theme.
