Abstract

Reformed spirituality as corporate spirituality

This article focuses on corporate spirituality from a Reformed perspective and attempts to determine the place of Reformed spirituality in the context of the different traditions and definitions. A short historical overview of different definitions of spirituality is provided and a provisional personal definition is also formulated. In order to differentiate between Reformed spirituality and other manifestations of spirituality, the historical development, theological ratio and different manifestations of spirituality are outlined. From these data a general definition of Reformed spirituality is formulated. The issue of what exactly is meant by corporate spirituality from a Reformed perspective is addressed and the article finally arrives at a conclusion founded on the relevant data.
